Description

Hillberg & Berk is a Canadian-owned jewellery company dedicated to an exceptional client experience, empowering women, and making a positive impact in the communities we serve. As we continue to grow across retail, digital, and wholesale channels, we’re seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team and play a central part in how the company plans, analyzes, and reports business performance.

This position works closely with the CFO and senior leaders across all departments, serving as a key partner in translating strategy and operations into clear financial and analytical insight. The role combines traditional FP&A responsibilities with a strong emphasis on business intelligence, data integration, and reporting modernization.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working directly with multiple data sources, building and consolidating reports, and taking a leading role in implementing BI tools and more cohesive reporting frameworks. This is not a passive oversight role, it requires someone who enjoys getting into the data, building solutions, and improving how information is delivered and used across the business.

What You'll Do:

Financial Planning & Forecasting
  • Support and lead core planning activities including forecasting, budgeting, reforecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Partner closely with sales, marketing, product, retail, and operations teams to align assumptions, drivers, and targets.
  • Provide forward‑looking analysis, scenario modeling, and insight to support decision‑making by the CFO and leadership team.
  • Act as a trusted analytical partner on business performance, risks, and opportunities.

Business Intelligence, Data & Reporting
  • Take a hands‑on role in bringing together data from multiple systems and sources into unified, reliable reporting and analysis.
  • Lead or significantly contribute to the evaluation, implementation, and rollout of BI tools and dashboards.
  • Design and build consolidated reports and analytics that improve clarity, consistency, and trust in numbers across the organization.
  • Help establish common definitions, metrics, and reporting standards in partnership with Finance and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with technical resources (internal or external) while remaining deeply involved in the analytical and reporting outputs.

Cross‑Functional Analytics & Insights
  • Deliver business insights across departments, including commercial, operational, and financial perspectives.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable narratives for senior leadership.
  • Support cross‑functional initiatives by providing analytical structure and decision support.
  • Influence outcomes through insight and collaboration rather than authority.

Process & Capability Development
  • Improve planning, forecasting, and reporting processes with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and usability.
  • Reduce reliance on fragmented or manual reporting by helping move the organization toward more automated and system‑driven insights.
  • Contribute to strengthening analytics capability and data‑driven decision‑making across the business.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, business analytics, or a related role.
  • Strong financial and analytical foundation with the ability to connect data to business context.
  • Hands‑on experience working with BI and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
  • Direct experience in the implementation, enhancement, or rollout of BI or reporting tools.
  • Comfortable working with multiple data sources and building consolidated analysis and reporting.
  • Experience partnering cross‑functionally and supporting senior leadership with analytical insight.
  • Retail, consumer, or multi‑channel experience is an asset.
